The change marks a dramatic reduction from the platform’s earlier limit of 2,400 posts per day, which was previously listed on the same support page.

Quote:The enhanced search feature will let you ask more conversational and complex questions, then surface videos that match what you're looking for.

Google is expanding YouTube's search capabilities so you can ask more conversational questions -- and jump straight to the most relevant parts of a video.

The upcoming feature, called Ask YouTube, brings a dose of Google's AI-powered search results to its video platform. You can make more complex queries like "creator reviews of cozy games to play before bedtime" or "how to teach your kid to ride a bike." YouTube will then show a list of videos, including Shorts, related to that topic. You can also ask follow-up questions to further pinpoint what you're looking for.

Taking things a step further, Ask YouTube will jump straight to the part of a video that addresses what you need, so you don't have to hunt for that information yourself.

In a briefing on Monday ahead of Google I/O, CEO Sundar Pichai said Ask YouTube will make "information much more digestible and easy to navigate."

Ask YouTube is available now for Premium members in the US aged 18 and up. Google says it's slated to roll out more broadly soon

Google already surfaces relevant videos in Search and AI Overviews -- summaries that appear at the top of search results -- along with more text-centric results. Ask YouTube puts videos exclusively in the spotlight. The ability to jump straight to a specific moment in a clip builds upon an existing function in Google Search that determines the most helpful part of videos like how-tos or tutorials -- skipping lengthy intros or portions deemed irrelevant to a query.

But making it easier to jump straight to specific sections across more videos could be a blow to creators, who rely on watch time and viewer retention. If people tune in for just a snippet, it could eat into creator revenues and affect overall video performance. Ask YouTube could also lead viewers to miss out on important context discussed in other parts of a video that weren't highlighted.

Quote:Ask.com, originally founded as the Y2K stalwart Ask Jeeves, is officially dead.

"As IAC continues to sharpen its focus, we have made the decision to discontinue our search business, which includes Ask.com. After 25 years of answering the world's questions, Ask.com officially closed on May 1, 2026," the homepage now reads.

Ask Jeeves was launched in 1997 by the Berkeley-based duo Garrett Gruener and David Warthen, a year before Google's now-dominant search engine debuted to the masses. At the time, Ask Jeeves' natural language processing, combined with its personality-filled voice and branding, made it the go-to web search and answer engine for early internet adopters. The website's butler mascot, Jeeves, modeled after the P.G. Wodehouse character, made appearances at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, holding its own against other iconic corporate logos of the early 2000s.

"Can one man have all the answers?" If he has access to the entire internet, absolutely.

But while many still refer to the site by its 1990s name, Ask.com hasn't been "Ask Jeeves" for nearly 20 years, with the brand dropping the latter word and its valet logo in 2006. The shift came after a change in ownership, when the brand was transferred to American holding company IAC. In 2009, Ask.com was dubbed the official search engine of NASCAR.

"We are deeply grateful to the brilliant engineers, designers, and teams who built and supported Ask over the decades. And to you — the millions of users who turned to us for answers in a rapidly changing world — thank you for your endless curiosity, your loyalty, and your trust," Ask.com reads. "Jeeves’ spirit endures."
Microsoft explains why certain Windows 11 features are missing

Windows 11 logo with a thinking emoji
On December 1, 2025, Microsoft released KB5070311, the latest non-security update for Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2. As usual, being a non-security update, it brought a lot of new features to the operating system. However, as it turned out, not all changes in the changelog are actually available in the update.

Microsoft recently changed the release notes to clarify that two widget-related features are not available in KB5070311 and will arrive in later updates. Those include the following:

[Widgets] You can choose a default dashboard in Widget Board settings. When live weather is showing, the Widget Board opens the first dashboard in your navigation bar instead of the most recently used one, making the experience consistent. To set your default dashboard, open the full-page Widgets Settings by selecting Settings in the navigation bar, then move your preferred dashboard to the top.
[Widgets] Dashboard icons in the Widget navigation bar now show numbers that correspond to the number of alerts from that dashboard. Navigation bar badges clear automatically when you leave a dashboard, making it easy to track what’s new.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Microsoft has updated the changelog for KB5070311. In December, the company said that taskbar animations were no longer available (no explanation provided), and the ability to AI-categorized photos in the Microsoft Photos app using semantic search was removed as well (again, without explanations).

At the same time, Microsoft added a word about the Recommended section in File Explorer for your frequently used files and the AltGr layer for the Arabic 101 keyboard layout.
