Brave's new privacy feature; free anonymous email!

Almost every website we register on asks us for an email address; the problem is that our real email address can be used as a permanent identifier to track our activity on various services.

Now Brave has a simple solution.:

Email Alias

Instead of sharing your primary email address with websites, Brave will create a unique pseudonymous email address for you.

Emails sent to this address are forwarded to your primary Mailbox, while the website does not see your real email address.

For example, you register on a website and create an Alias for that website.

If later:
The site was hacked, and user data was leaked.
He started sending spam.؛
Or your e-mail was sent to advertising companies؛

Just disable the Alias and create a new address if necessary.

How do I activate it?

This feature is available in the desktop version of Brave 1.94.

Update Brave to the latest version.

Enter this address in the address bar.:

"brave://settings/email-aliases"

Create a Brave Account And verify your email address.

Now, when you visit the website and click on the email field, a New Email Alias will appear.

Even if the option is not displayed, you can right-click on the email field and select a New Email Alias.

How many emails are free?

In the first version, Brave provides each user with five free aliases.

The mobile version and the paid data plan will get even more features in the future.

Does Brave read our emails?

According to brave, the email content is not processed for reading or profiling, but is processed for standard spam and virus filtering.

After the email is delivered to your primary mailbox, the message will be deleted from Brave's servers within a few seconds.

The primary email address and Aliases are stored in encrypted form.

Since the service has just been launched, some emails may end up in the Spam folder in the early days. In this case, click the Not Spam button to increase the chances of the next message being delivered correctly.
