ProtonVPN-Next / Proton VPN's first unofficial client Alpha - Sasha - 07-02-2026 ProtonVPN-Next / Proton VPN's first unofficial client Alpha An alpha version of ProtonVPN-Next has been released, an open source, informal client based on the official source of Proton VPN that provides more features for users. Features support for AmneziaWG with Obfuscation to make it harder to identify VPN traffic. Proxy connections with Proton API through Netlify to improve access on limited networks. Ability to select a connection port to the server: 443 • 123 • 1194 • 51820 New features Focusing more on privacy; telemetry and error reporting (Sentry) are disabled by default and completely optional. New ways to bypass restrictions; including support for SOCKS5 proxy, use of Deno proxy and perform DNS requests via remote server. Advanced network settings; you can specify whether devices within the local area network (LAN) pass through the VPN or are directly connected. Backup and restore app settings, so you can easily restore your settings after reinstalling or replacing your phone. Activate Obfuscation Settings → Protocol → AmneziaWG → Obfuscation → Enable Important: this app is not an official Proton VPN client and is published by independent developers. The source is open source, but if you're using a ready-made APK file, it's best to get it only from a reliable source, because open source alone doesn't guarantee that the APK released is made of exactly the same source.
